Why does autoplay wait until I come back to the tab?

Chrome won't start a new song in a tab you're not looking at, and no setting changes that. For music that keeps going in the background, use Firefox with Enhanced Tracking Protection turned off for this site (click the shield next to the address bar).

Why do I only get 30-second previews?

Full songs play only when you're logged in at open.spotify.com in this browser. Some browsers hide that login from the player:

• Firefox: Enhanced Tracking Protection hides it. Click the shield next to the address bar and turn Enhanced Tracking Protection off for this site.
• Chrome: Incognito windows, and the setting that blocks cookies from other sites, hide it. Click the icon in the address bar and allow cookies for this site.
• Safari, and every browser on iPhone and iPad: the player only ever plays previews, and there is no fix. Use "Play on Spotify" to hear the full song in the Spotify app.
